Hebei Daily Client News (Intern Reporter Kang Xiaobo) – AI industrial endoscopes, needlefree injection pens, distributed energy storage streetlights, tumbleweedinspired bionic seeding robots etc., on September 20, the 2025 Hebei International Industrial Design Week kicked off. Stepping into the main venue in Xiong'an New Area, one industrial design exhibit after another, brimming with technological flair, caught the eye – showcasing the hardcore strength of this year's Design Week.
It is understood that this year's Design Week, themed "ENVISION FUTURE · NEXT-GEN INDUSTRY," attracted 330 domestic and international enterprises to participate, exhibiting a total of 3,200 new design products. While the exhibition scale continues to expand, the technological sophistication of the exhibits has also been steadily rising.
At the Hebei Design Achievements Pavilion, a red rectangular box exhibited by Tangshan Yinglai Technology Co., Ltd. drew the attention of many professional visitors. This box is called a laser vision seam tracking system, known as the "eyes" of welding robots. "You see, the yellow cross on the screen is the weld position automatically tracked and identified by the system," explained the company's designer, Cheng Lu, while demonstrating. Traditional welding operates on a pointtopoint basis, and deviations often cannot be corrected. The laser vision seam tracking system, however, features functions such as weld positioning, tracking, and adaptive welding, enabling it to guide the robot to autonomously compensate for tolerances between the programmed trajectory and the actual weld, significantly improving welding success rates. The laser vision seam tracking system not only locks onto the weld with precision but also transmits welding imagery in real time. In elevated work scenarios, operators can monitor the welding process from the ground without having to climb up for inspection, greatly enhancing welding efficiency. "Our laser vision seam tracking system has reached internationally advanced standards. With these 'eyes,' robots have completely bid farewell to 'blind welding,'" said Cheng Lu.
At the booth of Daosheng Biotechnology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., a collection of exquisitely designed blue garments drew a crowd of visitors. These garments looked no different from ordinary clothing on the surface, but inside they held a secret – they were not dyed with chemical dyes, but with biological dyes. "We are the world's first company to achieve largescale production of synthetic biological indigo dye using biosynthetic technology," introduced Cheng Zhuolin, Brand Director of Daosheng Biotechnology. The company obtained the key enzyme genes for synthesizing indigo pigment from the indigo plant, and through gene editing, gene recombination, and other technological processes, produced biological indigo dye via largescale industrial fermentation. This dye is not only environmentally friendly and healthy but also possesses antibacterial, antiinflammatory, and deodorizing properties when applied to fabrics, offering people healthier and greener clothing options. "Quite a few potential partners have already reached out to us for discussions. We hope to leverage this platform to promote the application of biological dyes to more fields," said Cheng Zhuolin.
As a premier event in the global industrial design field, the Design Week attracted many international exhibitors. Italy's Fabio Verdelli design studio brought a number of exquisite design pieces. Among them, a Bluetooth speaker featuring bamboo weaving craftsmanship drew considerable attention from visitors. "This bamboowoven Bluetooth speaker was created in collaboration with traditional artisans from Guizhou. It skillfully combines modern design with traditional Chinese materials," introduced Manuel Frasson, Senior Designer at Fabio Verdelli design studio. The bamboowoven speaker emits sound through the gaps in the bamboo strips, producing a soft, warm tone. When the music plays, it feels as if one is listening to a story from the mountains, offering an artistic experience. Manuel Frasson resides in China permanently and has a deep appreciation for Chinese culture. This time, he came to Xiong'an not only to participate in the Design Week but also in the hope of finding new design inspiration in this "City of the Future." "For a designer, anything seen or heard can become part of inspiration. I will look and listen with an open heart in this brandnew city of Xiong'an to gain even better creative inspiration," he said.
Walking through the exhibition halls of the Design Week, every exhibit sparkles with the light of innovation, converging into a surging tide that injects strong momentum into the construction of Xiong'an New Area and the highquality development of our province's industries.
