PART 01

2026 is a pivotal year for Xiongan New Area, marking its comprehensive transition from the stage of large-scale intensive construction to the improvement and upgrading of urban functions and overall development capacity. As the source of the innovation chain and the high-end segment of the value chain, industrial design constitutes a core part of Xiongan’s industrial relocation and undertaking layout, and serves as a key driving force for the new area to foster new quality productive forces and build itself into a “City of Innovation, Charm and Future”. Since its launch in 2018, the Hebei International Industrial Design Week has gathered 2,488 design institutions from more than 70 countries and regions worldwide. It has grown into a benchmark platform for design resource exchange and industrial cooperation across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

Against this background,supported by the competent government authorities of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Xiongan New Area, four institutions including the Beijing Industrial Design Promotion Association, Tianjin Industrial Design Association, Hebei Future Industrial Design Innovation Center and Xiongan Future Industrial Design Research Institute have jointly launched the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Industrial Design Collaboration · Xiongan Forum. It aims to build an in-depth docking platform for governments, associations, design institutions and industrial undertaking carriers, consolidate consensus on the collaborative development of industrial design in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, establish a long-term coordination mechanism, and inject strong design momentum into the construction of Xiongan’s industrial system of "five industrial clusters and six industrial chains".

Dialogue on Collaboration: Why Gather in Xiongan

Xiongan New Area is shifting from large-scale construction to a new stage of comprehensive capacity upgrading, talent gathering, industrial reinforcement and innovation promotion. As Beijing’s non-capital functions are being relocated at an accelerated pace, more universities, research institutes, innovation and industrial resources flow rapidly across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. How to achieve more efficient regional innovation coordination has become an epochal issue faced by all parties.

Forging Ahead with Practice: Empowering Xiongan through Design

Guided by the principle of "consensus building, Xiongan focus and action promotion", the forum believes that promoting the in-depth integration of scientific and technological innovation with industrial innovation through design is an effective way to foster new quality productive forces and empower manufacturing upgrading.

 Consensus Building

Centering on the coordination of industrial design resources, industries and innovation in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, all parties seek common ground while reserving differences and pool efforts to promote cross-regional flow and optimal allocation of design resources.

 Xiongan Focus

Based on the high-quality development of Xiongan New Area and serving the relocation of Beijing’s non-capital functions, we accelerate the formation of a collaborative pattern: “Originated in Beijing and Tianjin, Demonstrated in Xiongan, and Transformed in Hebei”.

 Action Promotion

We will conduct thorough discussions on three topics: regional coordination, industrial implementation and joint talent cultivation, enabling design to take root in industries, enterprises and markets, and making today’s exchange the starting point for long-term cooperation.

Topic 1

 Based on the innovation pattern of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei-Xiongan, optimize the collaborative division of labor and integrated development path for regional industrial design.

Topic 2

 Deepen the coordination and linkage of industrial chains, and open up the full-chain empowerment path of "R&D — Transformation — Implementation — Demonstration".

Topic 3

 Focus on the two-way integration of industry and education for talents, and explore the development path of joint cultivation of design talents, industry-education coordination and ecological integration.

The conference, guided by consensus building and action implementation, will deliver two key outcomes: "consensus signing and initiative release".

Consensus Signing

The "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Industrial Design Collaborative Development Consensus"will be jointly signed to clarify the key development directions and cooperation foundations for regional industrial design collaboration.

Initiative Release

The "Xiongan Initiative"will be jointly issued to unify the vision and practical consensus of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei industrial design community in empowering Xiongan’s development.

The event aims to establish a normalized exchange and cooperation mechanism, promote resource sharing, platform co-construction, talent exchange and project cooperation, and ensure the implementation of the consensus and initiative. It will continuously inject industrial design innovation momentum into the high-quality development of Xiongan New Area and the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
