Dalian Minzu University is located in Dalian, a beautiful coastal city. Affiliated to the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, it is one of more than 110 universities directly under the central government. It is the only ethnic institution of higher learning in China situated in Northeast China and the coastal opening-up areas, featuring engineering as its main discipline with coordinated development of multiple subjects. Centered on forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, the university aims to build itself into a high-level modern comprehensive university.It has two campuses: Development Zone and Jinshitan, covering an area of 1,717 mu. Project preparation started in 1984, and student enrollment began in 1993. It is a university jointly constructed by the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Education, the People’s Government of Liaoning Province and the People’s Government of Dalian City.
