Watching the Sounds, Hidden Sounds, Planting Sounds

The motivation of creating Watching the Sounds is related to Cymatic, the experiment of visualizing sounds. The images of the work were captured from the moment when 25Hz sounds being conveyed to the surface of water. The artist recorded them with photography and printed them on planks with conductive ink. He then split the images, trying to imitate the shape of ripples. As the planks move from left to right, the audience could randomly interrupt the images and create sounds. The images and the planks could be identified as separate objects but they could combine and show a grander picture. Therefore, they individually accomplish themselves as well as they accomplish each other as a whole.
